Do I need to be tech-savvy to install Trickle? ๏น
Not at all. If you can screw in a shower head, you can install the water-side hardware. The system connects to your home WiFi automatically โ just scan a QR code on your phone and you're done. No wiring, no programming, no plumber needed.
What phones does the Trickle app work on? ๏น
The Android app is available now. iOS is coming soon. In the meantime, any phone can use the browser-based controls by visiting your Trickle's local address on your home WiFi.
Does it work with my existing shower? ๏น
Yes โ Trickle fits inline with virtually any standard shower setup in North America. It installs between your existing water supply and shower head using standard ยฝ" connections. No special shower required.
What happens if the internet goes down? ๏น
Trickle runs entirely on your local home network โ it doesn't need the internet to work. As long as your phone and the Trickle device are on the same WiFi, everything works normally. Your shower isn't going anywhere.
Is it safe to put electronics near water? ๏น
The electronics are housed in a sealed enclosure mounted outside the wet zone โ typically on the wall near the shower, not inside it. The only parts that touch water are the valves, which are purpose-built for plumbing and fully rated for continuous water contact.
How much water does it actually save? ๏น
Trickle's efficient nozzle insert targets 1.5 GPM versus the standard 2.5 GPM โ that's up to 40% less water per shower. Combined with the automatic shutoff and warm-up notifications that stop you running the water while you wait, real-world savings can be significantly higher.
Is Trickle available now? ๏น
